Our teens have an awesome time on Rockwood Adventures Teen Travel because we know where the fun is... all day... every day... all summer!
ROCKWOOD ADVENTURES was launched in 1991 as an alternative to both a traditional day camp and a residential camp. This exciting travel program is planned for teens entering 6th - 10th grades in September 2017 and is designed for those campers who want to experience a wide variety of activities while being away from home. There are a number of options planned to suit varying summer schedules. This summer, we will have two 10-day trips and two 5 -day trips. A "combo program” is also available here at Diamond Ridge Day Camp with a minimum of 2 weeks of day camp combined with 1- 6 weeks of Teen Travel. Campers may also combine travel with a minimum of 3 weeks of day camp at Sesame/Rockwood, our sister camp located in Blue Bell. Campers for the combo option must be within our regular day camp transportation areas or provide their own transportation to and from the appropriate camp. Please contact the camp office to discuss your location to see if transportation to and from your area is in our regular camp transportation area, or if you will need to drop your teen off to start and end the trips at Sesame/Rockwood Camps in Blue Bell. PA.
Our travel this summer is throughout the eastern and midwest United States. Our Rockwood Adventures Teen Tour Director, Cricket Snearing, visits locations in advance to see that our campers have security, comfort and cleanliness wherever we go! We travel in a luxury motor coach bus, featuring video screens and restrooms and driven by professional drivers.
The campers bond into a great group, making new friends and sharing the best of times. They learn to function as a part of a team, develop independence and learn how to share group responsibilities. Best of all, the learning takes place without interrupting the fun for one minute!
The proven success of our program has everything to do with great staff. Our Director works year-round to plan the program and meets with new campers and their parents prior to the beginning of the camp season. At that time, we review the activities and the very important set of guidelines to ensure that all campers enjoy their experience and have a great summer. The summer staff, chosen for their experience in working with children, includes counselors and the director. We provide staff training and orientation, which are specific to the needs of a travel program.
The tuition includes meals, admissions, accommodations, duffel bag and group and individual photos. Spending money and required uniform shirts are not included. Transportation is included and is curbside-to-curbside in some areas (if in a combo program at Sesame/Rockwood) and central pick-up locations in Bucks County and Huntingdon Valley. You may also choose to drive your teen to and from the start of the trips at Sesame/Rockwood Camps in Blue Bell and will receive a self trans credit.
We would be happy to discuss the program and available options for you teen with you. Just contact our director at the Sesame/Rockwood camp office at 610-715-5438 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
