ROCKWOOD ADVENTURES TEEN TRAVEL

WHEREVER THE FUN IS...WE'RE THERE!!! That's right, we work all year to find the most fun attractions, places to eat, things to see and do just for our campers! Whether it's in Washington, D.C. to visit the Spy Museum, in Chicago to stand on the glass floor at the top of the Willis Tower, in Boston for a whalewatch and to see Blue Man at the Charles Playhouse, in Ohio to visit the Columbus Zoo and Cedar Point Amusement Park, in Michigan where we’ll ride the dune schooners, swim in Lake Michigan and visit the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, at Club Getaway, THE Resort for Teens, where we'll spend 3 days doing sooo many cool camp activities, in Vermont to ride the alpine slide and tour Ben and Jerry’s Factory or checking out the rides at one of many amusement and water parks, our teens have an awesome time on Rockwood Adventures because we know where the fun is... all day... every day... all summer!

ROCKWOOD ADVENTURES was launched in 1991 as an alternative to both a traditional day camp and a residential camp. This exciting, travel program is planned for teens entering 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grades in September 2013 and is designed for those campers who want to experience a wide variety of activities while being away from home during the week. There are a number of options planned to suit varying summer schedules...with 1 to 8 week options available! This summer will have two-10 day trips, a session with two-5 day trips and two-1 week sessions at the end of the summer.  A "combo" program is also available, with 1- 4 weeks of Teen Travel combined with a minimum of 4 weeks of day camp at Sesame/Rockwood. We also offer a combo program with 2, 4 or 6 weeks of day camp at Diamond Ridge Day Camp, located in Jamison...travel first or come to day camp first! (Campers for the combo option must be within our regular day camp transportation areas). Please contact camp to discuss your location to see if transportation to and from your home is in our regular camp transportation area or if other possible arrangements would need to be discussed.

Our travel is throughout the eastern United States. Our Rockwood Adventures Teen Tour Director, Cricket Snearing, visits locations in advance to see that our campers have security, comfort and cleanliness wherever we go! We travel in a luxury motor coach bus, featuring video screens and restrooms and driven by professional drivers.

The campers bond into a great group, making new friends and sharing the best of times. They learn to function as a part of a team, develop independence and learn how to share group responsibilities. Best of all, the learning takes place without interrupting the fun for one minute!

The proven success of our program has everything to do with great staff. Our Director works year-round to plan the program and meets with new campers and their parents prior to the beginning of the camp season. At that time, we review the activities and the very important set of guidelines to ensure that all campers enjoy their experience and have a great summer. The summer staff, chosen for their experience in working with children, includes counselors and the director. We provide staff training and orientation, which are specific to the needs of a travel program.

The tuition includes meals, admissions, accommodations, duffel bag and group and individual photos. Spending money and uniform shirts are not included. Transportation is included and is curbside-to-curbside in some areas and central pick-up locations in others. You may also choose to drive your teen to and from camp and will receive a self trans credit.

We would be happy to discuss the program and available options for you teen with you. Just contact our director at the Sesame/Rockwood camp office at 610-715-5438 or e-mail cricket@srdaycamps.com.
